This 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Safari will blend gorilla trekking highlights with a look into Rwandan culture by visiting the gorilla guardian’s community. Mountain gorillas dwell in the forests of the Virunga mountains, which are split by Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. This journey will take you to the Volcanoes National Park, which is located in northern Rwanda near the Ugandan boundary and is ideal for mountain gorillas. The approach to this park passes via settlements where you may take in the splendour of ‘the thousand hills.’

Now, you will be picked up from either the airport or your hotel and start your 3-day Rwanda Gorilla Safari right away, depending on your location. With time, you will take a brief city tour of Kigali, including key historic and cultural sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Kigali Craft Markets, Kandt National Museum, and the Presidential Museum. Saw a few of these sights, you will have lunch in a city restaurant, where you will be able to taste local dishes or continental meals depending on your choices. Please inform your tour guide of your meal choices so that he may select the appropriate restaurant. After lunch in Kigali, we go to the home of the mountain gorillas at Volcanoes National Park.
Presently, following an early breakfast, you will begin your gorilla trekking adventure. The tour guide will take you to the briefing areas, where you will hear about the park’s requirements from the ranger guide. While you wait for everyone to arrive, experience Rwandan hospitality with traditional dances and steaming Rwandan coffee. The ranger guide will share some gorilla trekking instructions with you, such as no flash photography, and then separate you into several gorilla trekking groups. The tour guide will bring you to the start of the trailhead for the assigned gorilla group, depending on the location of the family of gorillas you will trek. Enjoy the day relaxing after your gorilla trekking adventure, or participate in an extra activity like as seeing the Musanze caves or the Twin Lakes.
Following the incredible action of gorilla trekking yesterday, today you will discover a little of culture at the Iby’iwacu cultural village/Gorilla Guardians Village to get a flavor of Rwanda’s history and tradition. Some of the residents of this cultural village are former poachers who relied on the forest for existence. This cultural village helps significantly mountain gorilla preservation since they can make money by sharing their culture rather than hunting. At monumental expeditions, we are devoted to including cultural activities on our packages so that guests may have a more intimate view of the places they visit while also allowing communities to profit directly from tourism money.
